Green Amber is created by backing natural lemon amber with a black lacquer or by burning areas of the back of the cabochon. A green hue is then created by the light reflection and reflection inside the amber.
Amber is a fossilised tree resin, approximately 50 million years old. The eagle eyed can find amber on our beautiful Suffolk Coast as it was pushed across by glaciers from the Baltic in the ice age.
